When I set out on this adventure I really never thought about what I would be accomplishing. But it really hit me when I hit the middle of the world.
Who would have thought that one day I would be standing on the equatorial line that separates the two hemispheres.
I did not realize it until I left the equator and started riding again that without any planning I ironically hit the equator ( Feb 1, 2013) exactly eight months to the date that I left home. Who would have thought that in 8 months I would have driven 13 countries, put on more than 22,000 km and be standing at the equator.
My first time ever in the Southern Hemisphere.
Now excuse me while I go flush a toilet to see which way the water flows down the drain.
Water goes clockwise in the northern hemisphere, counter clockwise in the south. My question is, what happens right on the equator?
